Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Booking Central Ltd (trading as BookingMate), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 15496869, registered office Building 1 Chalfont Park, Chalfont St. Peter, Gerrards Cross, England, SL9 0BG. Questions or requests: [email protected].

What we collect

  • Account and booking details: name, email, phone, billing address, guest names, travel dates, room choices, special requests and booking history.
  • Saved travellers you choose to add (name, adult/child, nationality, contact details).
  • Payment information: the method you chose and payment status. We do not collect or store card numbers.
  • Messages you send us (contact and enquiry forms, emails).
  • Newsletter: your email address, when and where you signed up.
  • Partners: contact and property details from hotels that list with us, and payout records.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and essential cookies needed to run the site securely.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To make, confirm and manage your bookings and account – performance of a contract.
  • To answer enquiries – legitimate interests (or steps before a contract).
  • To send newsletters – consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent fraud – legitimate interests.
  • To keep accounting and tax records – legal obligation.

Who we share it with

The hotel or provider you book (they need your name, dates and requests to host you); our IT and hosting providers; and authorities where the law requires. We do not sell your data.

International transfers

Many providers are outside the UK. Sending your booking details to them is necessary to perform your booking. Where we use service providers outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum.

How long we keep it

Booking and accounting records: six years after the booking. Account data: while your account is open and for up to two years of inactivity. Enquiries: up to two years. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of or objection to processing, and data portability, and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
