Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa is a Relais & Châteaux member on Paje beach on the south-east coast, recognised by the Michelin Guide. Rather than a conventional hotel, it is a collection of private villas and rooms tucked into tropical gardens that lead down to the sand.
Choose from garden villas with their own pool or hot tub, beachfront one-bedroom villas with a rooftop terrace, private pool and butler service, family villas of two to five bedrooms, or elegant rooms within the larger villas. Interiors are calm and natural, with wood, linen and glass doors opening to terraces, and outdoor bathrooms in many units; the garden villas run entirely on solar power with battery storage.
The resort has a beach restaurant and in-villa dining, a spa, fitness and tennis, yoga, and arranges kitesurfing, dhow journeys, helicopter flights and trips to Jozani Forest and Chumbe Island. Transfers from the airport, about an hour away, are organised by the hotel.
