About this property
Samawa Living is an intimate 30-room boutique wellness hotel set among palm groves in the heart of Paje, less than five minutes’ walk from the beach on Zanzibar’s south-east coast. It pairs modern comfort with sustainable practices and a strong focus on local culture and holistic wellbeing.
There are five suite types, from the Salama studio to the two-bedroom Rafiki and the Familia family suite. Interiors are calm and natural, with wooden louvres, canopied king beds, African artwork, ceiling fans and air conditioning, and some suites have their own living area and kitchenette or a private garden terrace.
Days start with breakfast on the rooftop and end with slow dinners over Paje. The hotel has a pool, a restaurant and bar known for its food, and a wellbeing programme with yoga, workshops and treatments, and it arranges sports, cultural and water excursions around the island.
