Konokono Beach Resort sits on the Michamvi peninsula on Zanzibar’s south-east coast, one of the island’s most secluded corners, overlooking the calm waters of Chwaka Bay with several kilometres of white beach in front. The resort is known for its Isaraya over-water villas, reached by a long jetty across the bay.
On land, spacious villas with private plunge pools and patios are set among lush gardens or right on the beach: garden-view and sea-view villas of 135 m², family villas, two-bedroom sea-view villas and new beach pavilions. Interiors are bright and airy with beamed ceilings, canopied beds and modern comforts.
Facilities include an infinity pool, a restaurant and beach bar, a spa, and meeting and wedding venues, and the resort runs a conservation programme. Rates booked directly include breakfast, dinner and VAT, with complimentary airport transfers on longer stays.
