Ocean Paradise Resort & Spa lies on the north-east coast at Pwani Mchangani, between Kiwengwa and Matemwe, set in 6.5 hectares of colourful gardens that run down to a white-sand beach and the turquoise Indian Ocean.
Its 98 rooms and suites are designed as traditional African roundhouses under tall makuti thatched roofs, each with large patio doors onto a balcony or terrace. Every room has air conditioning, a ceiling fan, mosquito net, minibar, safe, flat-screen TV, tea and coffee facilities and free Wi-Fi, with king or twin beds; seafront rooms sit just metres from the private beach, and two junior suites add a separate lounge.
The resort has a large lagoon-style pool and an infinity pool, several restaurants and bars including the Ocean, Jahazi and Mawimbi restaurants, the Bahari bar and a pool bar, plus a spa, gym and water sports such as catamaran sailing. It also hosts conferences, weddings and honeymoons, and supports a local community project.
