About this property
Zuri Zanzibar is a five-star resort on Kendwa beach on the north-west coast, around 90 minutes’ drive from Stone Town and the airport. Its 56 bungalows, suites and villas are tucked into a large tropical garden – including a working spice garden – just a short walk from the white sand and calm turquoise water.
Interiors mix contemporary furniture with local craftsmanship and African art, and every unit opens onto a generous terrace. Bungalows have indoor bathrooms plus tropical outdoor showers; suites add a separate living room and private jacuzzi; and the villas, mostly on the oceanfront, come with their own stretch of beach, jacuzzi and in one case a 12-metre infinity pool. Stays are half board, with an all-inclusive supplement available.
The resort runs three restaurants and four bars with a fusion of African, Arabic, Indian and European flavours, a long swimming pool, yoga and meditation sessions, a ‘wild fitness’ area, water sports and kids’ activities, and organises weddings and island excursions.
